"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

–Acts 1:8
The mission reach of Calvary is simply to follow Jesus' instructions, "to go...," whether that is at work, at play, or at a planned event. We are called to be on mission wherever the Lord chooses to place us. We come together to pray, give, serve, and go into our community, our state, our nation, and our world.

Community

Compelled by Love is a church-wide, family-friendly mission focus designed to connect with our local community. Often, it may touch the lives of the “least of these,” but the heart of CBL is that all who may be encountered might see and know the love of Jesus by service and by word.

Our local mission reach is not limited to a singular event such as CBL. We serve an outreach breakfast on the last Sunday of each month. We also deploy teams for Disaster Relief and partner with many local ministries.

The mission reach of Calvary is simply to follow Jesus’ instructions, “to go…,” whether that is at work, at play, or at a planned event. We are called to be on mission wherever the Lord chooses to place us.

Nation-wide

We partner and serve alongside several ministries across our nation—current partners are in Louisiana, Oregon, and Colorado.

We have a connection with Immanuel Community Church of New Orleans that allows us to join their ministry in touching the lives of those who live in their community and grow their church plant. Also in New Orleans, we partner with Baptist Friendship House to minister to and alongside those working and living there. We have recently partnered with Living Hope Church in Medford, OR and their mission to walk with and share the hope of Christ to a people desperate for restoration.

World-wide

We partner with several church plants and two particular ministries overseas that minister to countless people in large cities and communities and serve as a beacon of God’s Light to a culture of majority lost people.

Each year, we take teams to these countries to partner with church planters and other churches in their ministry to make the Gospel and name of Jesus known.

While all ages are welcome, many of these trips involve language barriers, lots of walking, sometimes no AC, and many other unique challenges. We are called and equipped by God to share the name of Jesus across the nations, so we go  as "workers into his harvest."

Compelled By Love

A monthly local mission

To be compelled by love is to be compelled by Jesus.
Compelled By Love is a monthly church-wide, family-friendly missions focus designed to serve and share the love of Christ in the community of Tupelo. We meet in the Calvary Welcome Center at 5PM on the first Sunday of each month March–October. We form teams, gather supplies, and go out into the community to serve and share the Gospel in love. We serve through local mission projects such as yard work, park outreach, visiting those who are homebound, caring for our widows, completing projects around the church facility, and more. The heart of CBL is that all who may be encountered might see and know the love of Jesus by service and word.

Tupelo Outreach Breakfast

A monthly local mission

Come be a part of this special ministry serving the vulnerable in our community! Our Calvary volunteers meet the first Sunday of each month at 6:30AM in the Fellowship Hall for prayer/devotion. We begin serving breakfast to our community at 7:30AM and a time of worship & devotion. Our goal is to not only provide for our community's physical hunger, but to share the Gospel with them. Volunteers are needed to help: cook, grill, serve food, welcome/greet, setup/cleanup, pickup/dropoff guests from the Salvation Army, distribute items from the Jehovah Jireh Tent, and MORE!

Contact the church office for a list of this month's volunteer openings!

Road Rulz Mystery Mission Trip

Student Ministry Mission Trip

Each year, we ask that 7th–12th grade students to pray about participating on this team. If God leads them to go, we ask them to signup, attend a briefing on the trip, and go without knowing the location or type of work we will be doing—even parents don't know. The purpose of this "Mystery Mission" is solely to teach us all to rely on the work of the Holy Spirit as we go serve and share the Gospel for His glory! For more information, contact the Minister of Students.

Our next trip: Summer 2024. Trip information will be listed in Events tab as details become available.

We engage in ministries such as door-to-door visitation, Christmas in July, city-park outreach, block parties, and sports camps. We partner with Immanuel Community Church of New Orleans which allows us to join their ministry in touching the lives of those who live in their community and grow their church plant. The goal of this trip each year is to engage in gospel conversations and assist ICC with outreach.

We also partner with Baptist Friendship House of New Orleans. In recognizing the worth and dignity of homeless women and children, BFH seeks to minister to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs, through love, action, and truth as revealed in God’s Word (Matthew 25, 1 John 3:17–18). Our team comes alongside BFH to minister to and serve both around the facility and with residents in the facility. While only women are allowed to minister to the residents, men on our team are needed to help with service projects around the facility and to help serve meals.
